Notice on Epidemic Prevention and Control for Foreign, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Faculty and Staff

Dear Faculty and Staff:
Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus epidemic, Shanghai Ocean University has given top priority to the life and health of its teachers and students as usual, resolutely implemented the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Municipal Government and the Municipal Education Commission, and carried out the epidemic prevention and control measures steadily. Nonetheless, at present the epidemic situation remains severe and complex and it is now a most crucial moment to curb the spread.In order to further implement the prevention and control deployment, strictly prevent the spread of the epidemic, and protect the safety and health of teachers and students abroad, the relevant matters are hereby informed as follows:
I.Take good self-protection. Wear a mask while going out and often wash your hands. Refrain from activities in enclosed public places, from going out and from taking part in group activities. Maintain good hygiene, build up health, increase the resistance to the virus, and take responsibility for you and your family.
II.Fully cooperate with the prevention and control work. Comply with coronavirus-related prevention requirements and regulations of your country/region and China during the outbreak.
III.Do not return to the university without permission.China’s Ministry of Educationrequired a delay of the opening day for universities before the epidemic is effectively controlled. Once the opening day is specified, you will be informed timely, so that you may prepare for the trip back. Returning to the university without application and official approval is a violation of university regulations.
IV.Keep close contact with the university. In case of illness, flight changes and other special circumstances, please promptly inform your college, International Exchange Office or Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office. You need to apply and have official approval before retuning to the university. Please keep your college updated of your itinerary once your application is approved. Wear a mask throughout your return journey, avoid close contact with others so as to reduce the risk of exposure to the virus. Upon arrival at Shanghai Airport, return directly to your place of residence, report timely to your college, and implement 14-day quarantine. Contact your college when you are in need of help.
V.Report your information accurately. Be sure to truthfully report your health condition, your location and self-quarantine to your college.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and support for the university during the outbreak. We firmly believe that under the strong leadership of the Chinese government, we are united as one while facing challenges, scientifically preventing and controlling the epidemic. We are determined to fight and win the battle at an early date!
