INTRODUCTION

Shanghai Summer School Program is one of the windows for international cooperation and exchange of Shanghai education established by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. It mainly focuses on different Chinese culture courses for different languages and cultural background. It aims to build a platform for educational and cultural exchanges with different languages and cultures in the world, and attract more outstanding high-level international students to experience China, learn Chinese, and study in Shanghai. 

Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) is a multi-disciplinary, applied research-based university, jointly established by Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the State Oceanic Administration, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In September 2017, it was selected by Ministry of Education into the country’s “Double First-Class Initiative” construction plan for its First-Class Discipline of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Outstanding experts in the fields of marine science and engineering, as well as aquaculture engineering are invited in the Shanghai Summer School 2024, with a focus on resource exploration, utilization of biological resources in the deep sea, distant sea, and polar regions. The summer school aims to share the scientific dreams of the experts and convey their scientific spirit and thinking.

ELIGIBILITY

· Non-Chinese citizens in good health.

· Students, researchers or industry personnel who are interested in marine subjects.

· Candidates from RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) countries or institutions and universities that have partnership with SHOU will enjoy preferential admission.

· Students need to be recommended by institutions or universities.

SCHOLARSHIP

· Shanghai Government Scholarship:

As one of China’s leading universities and selected into the list of the national level “Double First-Class”universities and disciplines, to attract exceptional international students, SHOU provides “Shanghai Government Scholarship” to those students who are willing to experience this Program.

· Scholarship Coverage:

Waiver of application fee.

Waiver of tuition fee and accommodation fee.

· Scholarship Eligibility:

Non-Chinese citizens in good health between 16 to 55 years of age at the time of application. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit a certificate of guardianship.
