我校国际学生龙舟队受邀参加2024年中国宁城国际龙舟赛公开赛 SHOU International Student Dragon Boat Team Making Waves on Zimeng Lake, Ningcheng
China’s 2024 Ningcheng International Dragon Boat Invitation Tournament kicked off in the Zimeng Lake Scenic Area of Inner Mongolia on June 15. This event attracted not only dragon boat fans from domestic universities, including Sun Yat-sen University, Xiamen University, Shanghai Ocean University and Liaoning Chaoyang Team, but also five teams from overseas. There were two Tokyo Olympics rowing champions in the Italian dragon boat team, which brought a new level of excitement to the event.

我校国际学生龙舟队由来自16个国家的23名国际学生组成，这支队伍于今年5月份组建，他们因对中国龙舟文化的共同兴趣聚在一起，为共同的目标而努力。比赛前，他们进行了积极备赛，定期进行技能与体能训练，不仅磨练了技艺，也加深了彼此之间的友谊。赛场上，队员们目光坚定，齐心协力，锚定目标，奋力拼搏。经过激烈角逐，我校国际学生龙舟队获得200米直道赛全场第七名，国际组第二名。
SHOU International Student Dragon Boat Team consists of 23 international students from 16 countries. Formed in May, this team shared a same passion for dragon boat culture and strove for a common goal of win. Before the race, their daily training not only honed skills, but also fostered a deep bond among the team. On the field, the players presented a strong sense of shared effort and an unyielding spirit. After fierce competition, SHOU International Student Dragon Boat Team won the seventh place in the 200-meter straight-line sprints and ranked second among the international teams.

作为本次参赛国内高校队伍中唯一1支由外国学生组成的参赛队伍，我校国际学生龙舟队备受欢迎和瞩目，他们一边操着流利的中文与当地民众积极互动交流，一边使用英语与来自欧洲的参赛队员们谈论着在中国的学习经历及龙舟赛背后的文化故事。来自乌兹别克斯坦的王力自豪地表示，我们现在就是中外文化交流的桥梁纽带，我感到特别开心。
As the only international student dragon boat team, the SHOU International Student Dragon Boat Team members highlighted the racing field with their impressive Chinese skills. They talked freely and smoothly with the local people and shared their learning experience in China and the stories behind the dragon boat race with the European team members. Wang Li, SHOU international student from Uzbekistan, said, “we international students are now a bridge of cultural exchanges between China and other countries, and I feel so delighted and proud of being one of them.”

值得一提的是，赛后他们捡拾矿泉水瓶、纸巾等垃圾，主动打扫了比赛期间使用的休息场地，并把凳子桌椅摆放整齐，这也引的其他队伍纷纷加入到清扫垃圾的行动中。我校国际学生龙舟队队长哈山表示，主办方已经为运动员提供了充足的保障，那么我们要在自己力所能及的范围内减少主办方清洁场地的工作压力，另外，紫蒙湖的山水环境太美了，我们都要主动保护这里的环境。我校国际学生龙舟队以出色的表现赢得了现场各方人士的认可与称赞。
Besides the language skills, the SHOU International Student Dragon Boat Team members were highly praised for the voluntary cleaning of the rest area after the game. They picked up water bottles, papers and other garbage, set the chairs and tables neatly, which led other teams to follow. Hasan, leader of the SHOU International Student Dragon Boat Team, said that the organizers have provided great logistics and convenience for us participants, we should also do anything we can to help and to protect the beautiful scenery of Zimeng Lake.

我校始终高度重视国际学生的知华教育工作，通过组织国际学生参加如龙舟赛、短视频及征文等各类比赛，积极开展如“品味中国年”、“中外学生文化交流沙龙”、“品读校史”、“国际文化节”等国情及文化体验活动，以全角度、多层次的方式使得国际学生能够深度了解中国、体验中国、感知中国，不断加深国际学生知华、友华、爱华的情感基础，促进国际学生与中国社会的正面良性的互动，并积极引导他们成为中国故事的参与者、讲述者、传播者和世界文明交流的见证者、推动者、倡导者，用世界听得懂的语言、喜欢听的方式，讲述真实、立体、全面的中国。
Shanghai Ocean University has always emphasized great importance to the education of understanding China for international students. By organizing various competitions for international students, such as Dragon Boat Race, Essay and Short-Video Competition, and also activities such as “Savor the Chinese New Year”, “Cultural Exchange Salon”, “Read the History of SHOU” and “International Cultural Festival”, SHOU encourages international students to feel and understand China in an authentic, multi-dimensional, and comprehensive way, play a role in exchanges of global civilizations and better tell the stories of China to the world.
