第四届上海暑期学校·RCEP地区海洋文化交流项目 暨第六届上海海洋大学全球暑期学校圆满闭幕The 4th Shanghai Summer School - RCEP Marine Culture International Program & the 6th SHOU Global Summer School Successfully Close

2024年6月26日上午，上海海洋大学成功举行了第四届上海暑期学校·RCEP海洋文化交流项目暨上海海洋大学第六届全球暑期学校的闭幕式。闭幕式由留学生工作办公室主任朱章华主持，于上海海洋大学海洋科技大楼109室举行，副校长江敏、留学生工作办公室、工程学院负责人出席，所有学员均如期参加。

On the morning of June 26, 2024, Shanghai Ocean University successfully held the closing ceremony of the 4th Shanghai Summer School - RCEP Marine Culture International Program and the 6th Global Summer School of Shanghai Ocean University. The closing ceremony was hosted by Zhu Zhanghua, Director of International Student Office, and was held in Room 109 of Marine Science and Technology Building of Shanghai Ocean University, with the attendance of Jiang Min, Vice President of Shanghai Ocean University, the teachers from International Student Office and College of Engineering Science and Technology and all participants from different countries .

此次闭幕式标志着本届暑期学校圆满结束，工程学院为此次的暑期学校提前筹备，精心策划，来自9个国家的34名学员顺利完成学习。一流的专家教授们带来前沿的思考和研究，促进学员的视野拓展和学术交流，深入了解海洋工程领域前沿知识，生动有趣的户外考察进一步增加了学员对海洋工程的感性认识，学员们前往“吴淞号”接受船员“培训”，在“彩虹鱼”亲手感触来自深渊的生物，来到崇明基地近距离了解水产养殖全过程，参观航海博物馆感受中国海洋文化。此外，丰富多彩的文化活动进一步加深了学员对中国传统文化的认识，如在蟹壳画、书法和国画课中认真描摹，在古筝学习时用心记谱，在龙舟赛艇上奋力前行，在武术展示中勤学好问，学员们积极尝试并拥有新的体验，在暑期学校的尾声均纷纷表示收获颇丰。

The closing ceremony marked the successful conclusion of this summer school. The College of Engineering Science and Technology prepared well in advance and planned thoroughly for this summer school, and 34 students from 9 countries successfully completed their study. First-class experts and professors brought cutting-edge thinking and research to enrich the students' vision and academic with the frontiers of the field of marine engineering. Lively and interesting outdoor field work further increased the students' perceptual understanding of marine engineering. The students went to Wusong Vessel to receive training of crew members, touched the creatures from the abyss in Rainbow Fish deep-sea lander, came to Chongming Island research base to understand the whole process of aquaculture engineering, and visited the Maritime Museum to feel the Chinese marine culture. In addition, the rich and colorful cultural activities further deepened the participants’ understanding of traditional Chinese culture, such as stylish crab shell painting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting classes, music learning of GuZheng(Chinese musical instrument) , dragon boat racing especially on the festival day, and last but not least the martial arts classes. The trainees actively engaged with all new experiences, and all of them said they had gained a great deal of harvests at the end of the summer school.

闭幕式上，工程学院党委书记晏萍代表项目承办学院，向全体学员表达了热烈的祝贺。她赞扬学员们在学术研讨和文化交流中的积极互动，通过本届暑期学校不仅实现了专业的成长，更结下了深厚的友谊，并鼓励学员们保持热情和创造力，将所学应用于未来，追求更高的学术和职业成就。晏书记对所有贡献者表示感谢，期待未来与大家再次相聚。

At the closing ceremony, Yan Ping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Engineering, on behalf of the host college of the program, expressed her warm congratulations to all the participants. She commended the participants for their positive interactions in academic seminars and cultural exchanges, and for not only achieving professional growth but also forging deep friendships through this summer school, and encouraged them to maintain their enthusiasm and creativity, to apply what they have learned to the future, and to pursue higher academic and professional achievements. Secretary Yann expressed his gratitude to all contributors and looked forward to meeting everyone again in the future.

学员代表张凯如（Irene Tiong Kai Ru）和黄翠微（Hoang Thuy Vi）走上分享台，与在场的师生交流了她们在暑期学校的学习体验和深刻感悟。张凯如用流畅的中文和充满激情的语调，讲述了她如何通过参与各种文化讲座和实践活动，对中国的海洋工程领域发展表示惊叹，对中国文化有了更深层次的理解和认识。在这期间除了收获了知识，也收获了很多不同国家的友谊，不舍告别这次难忘的学习之旅。希望本次的活动，能成为同学们人生道路上的转折点和里程碑，把学到的知识在生活中发挥得淋漓尽致。她从中国的发展中感受到“只有干出来的精彩，没有等出来的辉煌，只有一步一步干在实处，才能昂首阔步走在前列！”

Irene Tiong Kai Ru and Hoang Thuy Vi, representatives of the participants, came up to the sharing stage and exchanged their learning experiences and profound insights of the Summer School with the students and teacherst. With fluent Chinese and passionate tone, Irene told how she marveled at the development of China's maring engineering field and how she gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture through her participation in various cultural lectures and practical activities. In addition to the knowledge gained during this period, they also gained a lot of friendship with other students from different countries, and can’t believe now is the farewell to this unforgettable learning journey. Hope this activity will be a turning point and milestone in the students' life, and make the best use of what they have learned in their lives. From the development of China, she felt that there is no splendor that comes from waiting, only by doing practically step by step can we walk in the forefront with our heads held high! ”

黄翠微则从不同的角度，分享了作为高中生的她如何与来自世界各地的同学们建立联系，并通过团队合作项目，学习到了跨文化沟通的重要性。她的发言中充满了对获得新知识和新经验的珍视，以及对未来将这些应用到个人学术和职业道路上的期待。种种这些无不展现了本次暑期学校作为一个国际交流平台的独特魅力。

From a different perspective, Hoang Thuy Vi shared how she as a high school student  connected with students from all over the world and learned the importance of cross-cultural communication through a teamwork project. Her speech shows the cherish of acquiring new knowledge and experiences, and the expectation of applying them to her future academic and career path. All these demonstrated the unique charm of this summer school as an international exchange platform.

最后，副校长江敏对学员们所取得的成长和进步表示了高度赞许。通过成长、交流和启发三个关键词，凝练了学员们在知识深化、文化理解、国际视野拓展上的重要收获。江敏对青年学员们寄予厚望，鼓励他们继续追求学术卓越，并期待他们未来能在中国深造，上海海洋大学的大门将始终为他们打开。

Finally, Vice President Jiang Min highly praised the growth and progress made by the students. Through the three key words of growth, communication, and inspiration, the important gains of students in deepening knowledge, cultural understanding, and expanding international perspectives were condensed. Jiang Min has high expectations for young students, encourages them to continue pursuing academic excellence, and looks forward to their future studies in China. The door of Shanghai Ocean University will always be open for them.

闭幕式的尾声为学员们颁发结业证书和优秀作品表彰证书，以此表彰所有学员在暑期学校期间努力学习所取得的成就，同时表达对他们未来学术旅程的美好祝愿。本次暑期学校的闭幕，不仅是对过去数周学术探索和文化体验的庆祝，也标志着一场丰富而深刻的国际交流经历的圆满结束，为所有参与者留下了难忘的记忆。

Outstanding work were presented to the participants, in order to recognize the achievements of all the participants during the summer school, and at the same time to express the best wishes for their future academic journeys. The closing of the summer school was not only a celebration of the past weeks of academic exploration and cultural experience, but also marked the successful conclusion of a rich and profound international exchange experience that left unforgettable memories for all participants.

“上海暑期学校(Shanghai Summer School)”项目是上海市教育委员会建立的上海教育国际合作与交流的窗口之一，旨在搭建与世界上不同语言文化之间的教育、人文交流的平台，吸引更多优秀的高层次的外国学生体验中国、学习汉语、留学上海。本届上海暑期学校在专业课程和文化活动中均有丰富与优化，获得了学生的一致好评，相信在不断的打磨中，上海暑期学校项目将会为国际交流与合作做出越来越大的贡献。

     “Shanghai Summer School” program is one of the windows for international cooperation and exchange in Shanghai education established by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, aiming to build a platform for educational and humanistic exchanges with different languages and cultures around the world, and to attract more outstanding and high-level foreign students to experience China, learn Chinese and study in Shanghai. This year's Shanghai Summer School has been enriched and optimized in both professional courses and cultural activities, and has won the praise of the students. It is believed that the Shanghai Summer School program will make more contributions to the international exchanges and cooperation in the long run.
