上海海洋大学举行2024级新生开学典礼

Shanghai Ocean University held the opening ceremony for the Class of 2024 new students.

9月20日下午，上海海洋大学2024级新生开学典礼在图文信息中心广场举行，5000余名新生身着学院特色文化衫，青春洋溢，共聚海大谱写新篇。全体在校校领导、各职能部门负责人，以及各院系负责人、教师代表等出席，典礼由副校长江敏主持。

On the afternoon of September 20th, the opening ceremony for the 2024 freshman class of Shanghai Ocean University took place at the Graphics and Information Center Square. Over 5,000 new students, dressed in their college cultural shirts, gathered together in the university, brimming with youthfulness to create a new chapter. All current school leaders, heads of various functional departments, as well as deans and faculty representatives attended the ceremony, which was hosted by Vice President Jiang Min.

The opening ceremony commenced with the majestic national anthem. All teachers and students stood solemnly and saluted towards the direction of the five-starred red flag.

校党委书记王宏舟从老生代表伍煜飞的手中，接过校旗传递给新生代表孙睿泽，这象征着“勤朴忠实”校训精神的传承，也激励着新海大人奋发前行。

The Secretary of the University Party Committee, Wang Hongzhou, received the school flag from the hands of the representative of th senior students, Wu Yufei, and passed it on to the representative of the new students, Sun Ruize. This symbolized the inheritance of the spirit of the school motto diligent, simple, loyal and also inspired the new members of Ocean University to forge ahead.

校长万荣代表全校师生员工对2024级新生的到来表示热烈的欢迎，对陪伴新生成长的老师、家人表示衷心的感谢。万荣讲到上海海洋大学是一所有“厚重感”“家国情”和“创业心”的高校，不仅有悠久的历史、守卫海权的决心，还有开拓进取的风貌，引领学校不断迈上新的台阶。

President Wan Rong, on behalf of all faculty, staff, and students, warmly welcomed the arrival of the new students of the class of 2024. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the teachers and families who will accompany the new students in their growth. President Wan Rong emphasized that Shanghai Ocean University is a university with a strong sense of tradition, patriotism, and entrepreneurship. It not only has a profound history and a determination to defend maritime rights but also possesses a pioneering spirit that leads the school to continuously reach new heights.

面对新的国际国内形势，作为与海接缘、因海而兴的海大人，万荣勉励新海大人要有海的厚重博大，胸怀国之大者，始终勇立潮头，为祖国的建设、改革和发展贡献青春、智慧和力量；要有海的坚韧深邃，坚守“勤朴忠实”，接续拼搏奋斗，在实践中历练、在实践中成长；要有海的包容开放，具备世界眼光，勇于搏浪天涯，拓展人生格局，开阔国际视野，永远走在时代的前沿。

President Wan Rong, in the face of new international and domestic circumstances, encouraged the new students of Shanghai Ocean University to embrace the profound and vast qualities of the ocean. As individuals connected to the sea and thriving because of it, President Wan Rong urged the new students to embody the depth and breadth of the sea, harbor the ambitions of the nation, always stand at the forefront, and contribute their youth, wisdom, and strength to the development and reform of the country.He emphasized the importance of resilience and depth akin to the ocean, urging the students to uphold the values of diligence, simplicity, and loyalty, persevere in hard work and struggle, and grow through practice and experience.President Wan Rong also stressed the significance of openness and inclusivity resembling the sea, advising the students to possess a global perspective, courageously navigate through challenges, expand their horizons, broaden their international outlook, and always remain at the forefront of the times.

校党委副书记、副校长宋敏娟宣读2024级新生辅导员名单，全体校领导为2024级辅导员代表颁发聘书。勉励学生辅导员用心用情关爱学生，做好学生心灵守护者、思想引路人、成长陪伴者和青春逐梦人。

Vice Party Secretary and Vice President Song Minjuan announced the list of student counselors for the Class of 2024, and all school leaders presented letters of appointment to the representative counselors. They encouraged student counselors to care for students wholeheartedly, to be their guardians, mentors, companions, and dream-chasers as they grow and develop.

教师代表是来自水产与生命学院的李伟微教授，作为“大学长”向海大新生分享了自己的经验。他希望本科新生能够积极主动学习，健全人格品质，积攒人生道路上的宝贵财富；希望研究生新生敢于质疑经典，勇于探索未知，铸就坚韧不拔的意志品质；希望全体新生勇于追逐梦想，坚定不移前行，克服一切困难抵达心中的彼岸。

The teacher representative is Professor Li Weiwei from the College of Fisheries and Life Sciences, who, as the university elder, shared his experiences with the new students of the university. He hopes that undergraduate freshmen can actively engage in learning, develop their character and integrity, and accumulate valuable wealth on their life journey. He also hopes that graduate students can dare to question classics, explore the unknown, and forge a strong and unwavering will. He encourages all new students to pursue their dreams courageously, to march forward steadfastly, and to overcome all obstacles in order to reach the shores of their hearts.

来自食品学院的熊晨逸作为本科新生代表发言。讲述了自己选择海大的缘起，以及对未来学习生活的无限憧憬，立志用行动践行梦想，用汗水浇灌希望，在上海海洋大学书写未来精彩篇章。

Xiong Chenyi from the College of Food Science spoke as the representative of undergraduate freshmen. He shared the reasons for choosing Shanghai Ocean University and his boundless expectations for future study and life. He expressed his determination to pursue his dreams through actions, to water hope with sweat, and to write a wonderful chapter for the future at Shanghai Ocean University.

来自海洋生物资源与管理学院的俞骏，这位已经在海大第六个年头的“老生”推免成为一名博士研究生“新生”。他回顾了自己在海大学术研究、远洋履约的学习和实践历程，激励同学们胸怀家国情怀，勇担使命，为推进国家海洋事业全面发展做出贡献。

Yu Jun, from the College of Marine Living Resource Sciences and Management, who is in his sixth year at Shanghai Ocean University, became a new doctoral student through recommendation. He recalled his academic research, distant ocean-going study, and practice at Shanghai Ocean University, inspiring his classmates to embrace patriotism, shoulder responsibilities, and contribute to the comprehensive development of the national marine industry.

李昱芳、迪力夏提、李雨沛、冷甜甜、马子烨、张壕熔、何宇萌、林兰娜等八位老生代表以“青春中国”为主题，分享了在海大学习生活的收获成长，如资助宣传、参军入伍、科技实践、航海考察、艺术传播、志愿服务、国际担当等，展现了青春昂扬生长、不懈奋斗、搏动文脉、开放姿态的精神面貌。他们是海大青年的缩影，激励新生们迎接理想的起航，见证人生的绽放，共同书写海大新篇章。

The eight senior representatives Li Yufang, Dilixati, Li Yupei, Leng Tiantian, Ma Ziye, Zhang Haorong, He Yumeng, and Svetlana Kremeshkova shared their growth and achievements in studying and living at Shanghai Ocean University under the theme Youth in China.” They talked about their experiences in various activities such as publicizing assistance, joining the military, scientific practice, navigation surveys, art dissemination, volunteer service, and international responsibilities. They showcased the spirit of youthfulness, constant striving, cultural exploration, and openness. They are the epitome of the young generation at Shanghai Ocean University, inspiring new students to embark on their journey towards their dreams, witness the bloom of their lives, and collectively create a new chapter at Shanghai Ocean University.

开学典礼上举行了校徽佩戴仪式，学校领导为新生代表佩戴象征着海大烙印的校徽。全体新生在学校第十届研究生常任代表委员会主任邵佳伟的带领下面向校旗集体庄严宣誓，展现青春豪情。

At the opening ceremony, there was a ceremony for the new students to wear the school badge, and the school leaders awarded the emblem representing the imprint of the Ocean University to the representatives of the new students. All new students, under the leadership of Shao Jiawei, Chairman of the 10th Graduate Student Permanent Representative Committee, solemnly pledged facing the school flag, showing youthful enthusiasm.
