International Students participated in 7th CIIE as volunteer
今年上海海洋大学进博会“小叶子”中,出现了特别的身影,她们既是留学生“小叶子”,也是一年级“小叶子”。赤诚、奉献、交流、思考......虽然留学生“小叶子”分别来自不同的国家,但接受青年报·青春上海记者采访时,她们不约而同地说道,希望发挥英语和专业所长,参与进博、服务进博,助力推进国际商业合作和交流,为进博会世界合唱奏响和弦。
At this year's Import Expo, there were some special figures among the Little Leaves from Shanghai Ocean University. They are not only international student Little Leaves, but also first-year Little Leaves. With sincerity, dedication, communication, and reflection... Although the international student Little Leaves come from different countries, when interviewed by reporters from Youth Daily, they unanimously expressed their hope to leverage their English and professional expertise, participate in the Import Expo, serve at the Import Expo, contribute to advancing international business cooperation and communication, and help play a part in the global harmony chorus of the Import Expo.
就读于国际经济与贸易专业的00后“小叶子”王崇婷来自缅甸,谈及为何想要成为进博会志愿者时,她说,“我希望成为进博会‘小叶子’的原因有很多,但最关键的原因是希望能够亲自参与这一盛会,近距离接触参展企业及其展品,了解他们的技术和创新。进博会汇聚了来自世界各国的参展商,给我提供了一个积极参与全球合作与交流的平台。我很高兴成为进博会食品展区的志愿者,希望通过这次机会来锻炼自己的沟通能力和团队合作能力,并能够帮助到他人。”
Generation Z Little Leaf Mya Yadana Oo, who is majoring in International Economics and Trade, comes from Myanmar. Speaking about why she wants to become a volunteer at the CIIE, she said, There are many reasons why I want to become a 'Little Leaf' at the CIIE, but the most important reason is that I hope to personally participate in this grand event, get up close to the exhibiting companies and their products, and understand their technology and innovation. The CIIE gathers exhibitors from various countries around the world, providing me with a platform to actively participate in global cooperation and communication. I am delighted to be a volunteer at the food exhibition area of the CIIE, hoping to exercise my communication and teamwork skills through this opportunity, and to be able to help others.
在王崇婷看来,自从来到中国后,她的视野得到了极大的拓宽,逐渐了解和适应中国的文化和环境,这让她更加渴望在交流中发挥积极作用。在上海海洋大学读大一时,她参与了朵云书院的常态化志愿活动以及国际迎新工作志愿活动。“通过这些志愿经历,我深刻领悟到志愿服务的重要性,也希望能在进博会中继续为促进中外交流与合作贡献我的一份力量。”
In Mya Yadana Oo's view, since coming to China, her horizons have been greatly expanded, gradually understanding and adapting to Chinese culture and environment, which has made her more eager to play an active role in exchanges. While studying in her freshman year at Shanghai Ocean University, she participated in the regular volunteer activities of Duoyun Library and international welcome activities. Through these volunteer experiences, I have deeply realized the importance of volunteer service, and I hope to continue to contribute to promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries at the CIIE.

对于哈萨克斯坦留学生阿金娜而言,今年是她来中国的第一年,她在上海海洋大学学习汉语课程。她非常期待通过进博会志愿者的工作进一步了解中国,“我知道进博会有来自全球不同国家的参展商,我很期待参与志愿者工作,服务进博会。我相信,这将会是一场充满收获和快乐的志愿之行。”
For Kazakhstani student Adina Kenzhebayeva, this year is her first year in China, where she is studying Chinese language courses at Shanghai Ocean University. She is looking forward to further understanding China through her volunteer work at the CIIE. I know that the CIIE has exhibitors from different countries around the world, and I am eager to participate in volunteer work to serve the CIIE. I believe that this will be a rewarding and joyful volunteer journey.

留学生孔如少来自乌兹别克斯坦,当问及为何想要成为“小叶子”,她不假思索地说道,“成为一名志愿者,能收获一种自豪感和认同感。我的主修是英文,虽然担心目前中文交流可能有挑战,但我喜欢学习新的语言,期待通过进博会对经济和贸易有更深入的了解。做志愿者的体验,也让我对于自己的生活和目标有更积极的态度。”
International student Rukhsora Kenjaeva from Uzbekistan, when asked why she wanted to become a Little Leaf, she immediately replied, Being a volunteer gives me a sense of pride and belonging. Although my major is English, I am worried about potential challenges in Chinese communication at the moment. However, I enjoy learning new languages and look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the economy and trade through participating in the CIIE. The experience of being a volunteer has also given me a more positive attitude towards my life and goals.

记者了解到,上海海洋大学已经对进博会“小叶子”开展第七届进博会场馆知识介绍以及志愿者通识知识等培训。不仅如此,这三位留学生小叶子还通过网络大量搜索进博会过往的新闻报道和展会信息,做了充分的准备。王崇婷告诉记者,“通过志愿者培训,我学习了现场的工作流程、安全注意事项以及如何处理常见问题。此外,我提前了解展览场地的布局和各个展区的位置,这样在活动期间能更快地为参加进博会的人员指引位置。我希望能够与来自不同国家的参展商和观众进行深入交流,了解他们的文化和商业理念。”围绕食品展区,阿金娜同学查阅和学习了食品行业知识,包括市场趋势、新产品和技术创新,还了解过往的进博会展品如何变商品,参展商如何变投资商的故事。
The journalist learned that Shanghai Ocean University has already conducted the 7th CIIE venue knowledge introduction and volunteer general knowledge training for the Little Leaves participating in the CIIE. Not only that, these three international student Little Leaves also extensively searched for past news reports and exhibition information of the CIIE online, and made thorough preparations. Mya Yadana Oo told the reporter, Through volunteer training, I learned about the on-site work processes, safety precautions, and how to handle common issues. Additionally, I familiarized myself in advance with the layout of the exhibition venue and the locations of various exhibition areas, so that I can guide participants at the event more efficiently. I hope to have in-depth exchanges with exhibitors and visitors from different countries, to understand their cultures and business concepts. Focused on the food exhibition area,Adina Kenzhebayeva researched and learned about the food industry knowledge, including market trends, new products, and technological innovations. She also explored how past CIIE exhibits transformed into products and the stories of how exhibitors became investors.
在采访中,三位来自不同国家的留学生都告诉记者,希望今后能够在中国读研究生。通过进博会之桥,留学生“小叶子”希望为中外企业商业合作贡献更多力量,助力中外交流互通;通过进博会之窗,留学生“小叶子”对于中国将收获更全面深入的了解,对中国有更深的感情。
During the interview, the three international students from different countries all told the reporter that they hope to pursue their postgraduate studies in China in the future. Through the bridge of the CIIE, the international student Little Leaves hope to contribute more to the business cooperation between Chinese and foreign companies, and facilitate exchanges between China and other countries; through the window of the CIIE, the international student Little Leaves anticipate gaining a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China, and developing deeper feelings towards the country.
