From October 24 to 26, 2025, the 2025 Experience China Second Jiangsu University and First Yangtze River Delta University Special Session for International Graduate Students' Academic Exchange, hosted by the China Scholarship Council and supported by the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, and the Department of Education of Anhui Province, was successfully held at Jiangsu University. The event brought together over 400 Chinese and international graduate students and faculty advisors from 55 universities in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui. Centered around the theme Academic Exploration and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges. Two international doctoral candidates from the College of Fisheries and Life Sciences at our university stood out among 143 submitted papers, successfully having their papers selected for the conference. They presented their research in the Science, Engineering, and Agriculture sub-forum and achieved outstanding results, winning the First Prize and Third Prize for academic papers, respectively.

Kamara Abdulai M., an international student from Sierra Leone, received the First Prize for his research paper titled Rice-Crab Co-culture Enhanced Culture Performance, Environmental Sustainability and Balanced Microbial Communities. Under the supervision of Professor Wu Xugan, Kamara has been conducting long-term field observations and experiments on rice-crab co-culture systems in Xuancheng, Anhui Province. His practice of writing his thesis on the land of rural China vividly embodies our university's philosophy of writing papers on China's rivers, lakes, and the world's oceans and seas. His research not only deepens scientific understanding in related fields but also explores practical pathways for promoting regional green agricultural development.

Anyango Benter, an international student from Kenya, received the Third Prize for her research paper titled Development Status and Trends of Global Rice-fish Farming Systems. The study was supervised by Associate Professor Zhang Wenbo from the College of Fisheries and Life Sciences at our university. In June of this year, Anyango Benter was successfully elected as a Student Director of the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) for a one-year term. This honor signifies that the quality of talent cultivation in our university's international aquaculture education has been highly recognized by international peers.

Since its launch in 2013, the Experience China series of activities organized by the China Scholarship Council has been committed to promoting in-depth academic and cultural exchanges between Chinese and international youth, helping international students perceive an authentic, multidimensional, and dynamic China from all perspectives and through diverse interactions. The implementation of this special event has further expanded the academic horizons of international students, strengthened research and cultural exchanges among regional universities, and established a high-quality international academic exchange platform for international students in the Yangtze River Delta region.
