SHOU wins Silver Dove Award

2月26日，2025年度上海市“中华文化国际传播”和“银鸽之光” 第二十届上海市国际传播优秀项目征集活动结果揭晓，上海海洋大学的国际暑期学校项目——耕海牧渔成功入选，获评上海市银鸽之光国际传播活动优胜项目，彰显了上海教育国际传播的坚实成效与学校一流学科赋能中华文化国际传播的高校力量。 

On February 26, the result of Shanghai's 2025 International Communication of Chinese Culture and the 20th Silver Dove Award  call for outstanding international-communication projects were  announced. Our university has successfully struck gold with our Summer  School Project, Marine Cultivation and Fisheries Program.  This shows the solid result of Shanghai's international spreading of  education and how our leading subject empowers the spread of Chinese  culture as a form of force from universities. 

本次获评“银鸽之光”优胜项目的“耕海牧渔”上海暑期学校（Shanghai Summer School）项目由上海市教育委员会主办、上海海洋大学承办，水产生态养殖中心（CEA）、中国—东盟海水养殖技术“一带一路”联合实验室（上海）和亚洲水产学会协办，以“可持续水产养殖”为核心主题，立足全球粮食安全的时代命题，通过传授生态养殖技术、全面展示中国水产实践成果，为全球，特别是发展中国家提供可复制、可推广的粮食增产方案，彰显了中国作为全球最大水产品生产国的责任与担当。该项目吸引了来自12个国家的27名学员，共同开展为期18天的沉浸式学习。 

The  awarded project this time Marine Cultivation and Fisheries Program is  leaded by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education Departments,  hosted by Shanghai Ocean University, and co-hosted by the CEA, our  China-southeast alliance lab (Shanghai) and AFS.  It serves the core of sustainable aquatic products cultivation, aims  at the global food supply security issue of our era. It shows the  responsibility that China as the largest aquatic producer has taken by  showing the ecological  cultivation technology, presents our country's aquatic practice as the  solution to increase agricultural production which developing countries  can duplicate and spread. This project has attracted 27 students from 12  countries, who conducted immersive study lasting 18 days. 

水产与生命学院在国际交流处指导下，精心设计多元化课程体系，不仅包括一系列聚焦水产养殖前沿的专业讲座，还设有实验操作、田野考察、企业参访、产业调研、研讨辩论等模块，以及龙舟竞渡等中国传统文化的体验活动。项目的创新实践与丰硕成果获得了广泛认可，中央广播电视总台“南海之声”专门推出专题报道《2025全球青年渔业研修记》，全方位展现了项目的特色亮点与国际影响力，让中国水产智慧与文化魅力通过镜头走向全球。来自非洲开发银行的学员维萨姆（Wissam Gallala）在研修结束后表示，“耕海牧渔”的精神将成为守护蓝色家园的动力。这份感悟也道出了所有学员的心声——他们在收获前沿知识与真挚友谊的同时，更成为中国水产技术与中华文化的传播者。 

The Shanghai  Ocean University's college of fisheries and life science has been  designing a pluralistic course system under the leadership of the  Committee of Global Transfer. The system not only includes a series of  professional lectures focusing on the bleeding edge of the cultivation  of fisheries, but also has experiments, observation at the fields,  interviewing related cooperations, inspection of the whole industry,  seminars and more. It also includes the experience of traditional  Chinese activities such as racing dragon ships. The innovation and results from this project have been widely recognized: the CCTV of our country has published a special topic 2025's global youth's  fisheries research in their Southern Ocean program. This has  premiered the projects special highlights and international influence in  multiple dimensions and  brings China's wisdom in fisheries with cultural significance in front  of lenses, pushing it towards the world. The student Wissam Gallala from African Development Bank has expressed after the study that the project has inspired him to protect the Earth as our home. This realization has also spoken the words inside students' hearts. They had not only received cutting edge knowledge and honest friendship but also became the people who spread China's fisheries technologies and China culture. 

上海海洋大学在113年办学历程中深耕水产学科领域、成果斐然，2021年曾成功承办联合国粮农组织十年一次的全球水产养殖大会，向世界传递中国水产智慧。此次“耕海牧渔”项目入选“银鸽之光”优胜项目，既是对学校承办上海暑期学校工作的高度肯定，更是学校践行海洋强国使命、深化教育对外开放、推动国际传播的生动实践。未来，学校将继续依托上海暑期学校这一重要平台，立足学科优势，深耕国际交流与传播，持续打造特色鲜明的国际教育品牌，推动中国水产技术、海洋文化走向世界，为构建人类命运共同体、促进全球海洋可持续发展贡献海大智慧与力量。 

Shanghai Ocean University has been deeply rooted in agricultural research and has gotsignificant results.  In 2021 we had successfully co-hosted FAO's fisheries conference, which  had only one occurrence in 10 years. The fact that our project has been  selected as the Silver Dove Award project  as outstanding not only is a recognition of the Summer School project,  but also serves as a lively practice of our university's commitment to  follow the philosophy of maritime powers the success of our country,  deepening the openings of education to the world and pushing  international spreading. In the future our university will continue to  work on developing a characteristic international education brand,  pushing our country's fisheries technology forward, and bring the  maritime culture in front of the world based on  Shanghai Summer School project and our distinctive research lead. This  will further provide thrust for a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind, and push global sustainable development of ocean with our wisdom and power.
