Dr. Fahim Ullah Khan——Moderator
l Postdoctoral Researcher, Shanghai Ocean University
l Shanghai High-Level Young Scientific and Technological Talent Fellow
Dr. Khan has been at Shanghai Ocean University since 2018 and was among the first CSC-funded international doctoral students in the college. His research focuses on physiological and ecological responses of marine organisms to climate change and pollution. He has published 30+ SCI papers in leading journals, contributed to 3 academic monographs, and serves as Guest Editor for Frontiers in Toxicology. He has participated in projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and provincial-level projects, presented at international conferences, and been involved in teaching and supervising Master’s and PhD students.

Current position:Technical Advisor (Aquaculture) at Guangdong Haida Group
Research:Artificial breeding & sustainable aquaculture (eel reproduction, larval rearing)
Outputs: 7 peer-reviewed publications | Presenter at conferences in North America and Asia
Unique edge: First-hand experience in translating academic research into industrial aquaculture solutions—currently advising one of China’s largest aquatic seed enterprises.
Dr. Nusrat Liaqat (PhD, SHOU, graduated)——Panelist
Current position:Postdoctoral Researcher, Shanghai Ocean University
Research:Aquaculture, environmental stress physiology, aquatic molecular biology, multi-omics, gut micro-biome ecology, and fisheries sustainability
Outputs:18 peer-reviewed publications | 7 as first author | Extensive multi-omics (transcriptomics, metabolomics, microbiome) experience
Unique edge:Systems-level understanding of host-microbe interactions under environmental perturbation, combining classic toxicology with modern sequencing and bio-informatics.
Dr. Muneeb Sagheer (PhD, SHOU, graduated)——Panelist
Current position:Postdoctoral Researcher, Shanghai Ocean University
Research:Fisheries and aquaculture economics, environmental economics & climate change
Outputs:8 papers, 6 as first author (first-author rate:75%) | Publications in both SCIE and SSCI journals (SCI +SSCI dual-track) | Reviewer for Nature, Elsevier, and Springer journals

Dr. Dorine Nola (PhD, SHOU, graduated June 2026)——Panelist
Current position: Postdoctoral Researcher, Shanghai Ocean University
Research: Deepsea fish ecology-age, growth, trophic ecology, metabolic rates, and carbon flux--in the East China Sea (species: Diaphus watasei and Synagrops japonicus)
Outputs: Published in Regional Studies in Marine Science | 2 Master’s degrees (Physical Oceanography; Oceanography & Limnology)
Unique edge: Extensive field experience from oceanographic cruises | One of the few earlycareer scientists with handson deepsea sampling experience in Chinese waters.
