International Students Clinch Gold at the 12th Shanghai International Wushu Expo

拳影翻飞显身手，武韵悠长贯中西。9月19日，全球武术爱好者瞩目的盛会------第十二届上海国际武术博览会在虹口北外滩盛大开启！来自35个国家和地区的5000余名运动员同台竞技，其中国际选手超过300人，共襄这场以武动全球·博览中华为主题的武术盛会。我校3名国际学生在比赛中不畏强手，凭借出色的表现，最终斩获1金2银的优异成绩，在国际赛场上展现了海大学子的卓越风采。

Fists and shadows fluttered as martial prowess unfolded, the enduring spirit of wushu bridging East and West. The globally anticipated event—the 12th Shanghai International Wushu Expo—commenced magnificently on September 19 at Hongkou North Bund! Over 5,000 athletes from 35 countries and regions competed together, including more than 300 international participants, joining this martial arts extravaganza themed Wushu Move the World, Showcase China. Three international students from SHOU fearlessly faced formidable opponents and delivered outstanding performances，ultimately achieved the excellent result of 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals, demonstrating the exceptional demeanor of SHOU students on the international stage.

 本届武博会首次纳入国际武术联合会C级赛事体系，以1+7的架构展开：1个主场联动7个专场。我校参赛选手在高手云集的赛场上沉着冷静，将平时刻苦训练的成果完美呈现。缅甸留学生王崇婷（MYA YADANA OO）在女子C组24式简化太极拳项目中荣获一等奖，印度尼西亚留学生杨惠媚（AGNES NATALIE NONE）和缅甸留学生刘圆圆（HNIN AUNG HNIN）在女子C组24式简化太极拳项目中双双将二等奖收入囊中。

This Wushu Expo was newly incorporated into the International Wushu Federation's Grade C event system and unfolded with a 1+7 structure: one main venue linked with seven special sessions. SHOU's competitors remained composed amidst fierce competition, flawlessly executing the fruits of their rigorous training. Myanmar student Wang Chongting (MYA YADANA OO) won first prize in the Women's Group C 24-form Simplified TaiJi event, while Indonesian student Yang Huimei (AGNES NATALIE NONE) and Myanmar student Liu Yuanyuan (HNIN AUNG HNIN) both secured second prize in the same event.

赛后，同学们纷纷表示，通过参加本次高水平的国际赛事，她们不仅提升了武术技能，更深刻感受到了中华武术博大精深的文化底蕴和以武会友、和谐共生的体育精神。

After the competition, the students expressed that participating in this high-level international event not only enhanced their martial arts skills but also deepened their appreciation for the profound cultural heritage of Chinese martial arts and the sporting ethos of forging friendships through martial arts and fostering harmonious coexistence.

上海国际武术博览会不仅是竞技比武的擂台，更是文明互鉴的桥梁。我校国际学子以武为媒、以赛会友，既向世界生动展现了中华武术的博大精深，也在跨文化交流中深化了青年之间的理解与友谊。期待未来有更多海大学子勇闯世界舞台，彰显勤朴忠实的精神气质，为推动中华优秀传统文化的国际传播贡献青春力量。

The Shanghai International Wushu Expo is not only a platform for competition but also a bridge for mutual cultural appreciation. Our international students used Wushu as a medium and the competition as a way to meet friends, vividly showcasing the depth and breadth of Chinese Wushu to the world, while also deepening understanding and friendship among youth through cross-cultural exchange. We look forward to more SHOU students venturing onto the global stage in the future, demonstrating the spirit of  Diligence, Simplicity, Loyalty and Integrity ，and contributing their youthful strength to promoting the international dissemination of outstanding Chinese traditional culture.
